Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

The short version: CalScout doesn't collect any data about you. Your calendars are read on your device, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.

Who we are

CalScout is made by MA Pouladi (“we”). This policy covers the CalScout apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac and this website, calscout.app.

Your calendars

CalScout asks for full access to your calendars so it can find your open times and add tentative holds for the times you offer. Your events are read on your device to work out when you're free. They are never uploaded, shared or stored anywhere else by CalScout.

The holds and meetings CalScout creates are ordinary events in your own calendars, so they sync and are shared the way those calendars already are (for example, with iCloud, Google or Microsoft, under their own privacy terms).

Settings and offers

Your settings, presets, the people you meet (names, time zones and working hours you enter) and your open offers are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they're also kept in your own iCloud account so your other devices stay in step. We can't see that data; it's protected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Text you paste or share

When you paste or share someone's availability into CalScout, it's read on your device — with Apple's on-device language model where available, otherwise with built-in rules. Only the times found are kept, not the text itself, and nothing is sent off the device.

Purchases

CalScout Pro and its free trial are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we receive no payment details and no information that identifies you. Your device confirms the purchase with Apple directly.

Updates

CalScout from the App Store is updated by Apple. The earlier version of CalScout for Mac downloaded from our releases page checks for updates by fetching a public file from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com), which sees the request as any web server would; nothing about you or your calendars is included.

No analytics, tracking or advertising

The apps contain no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking code, and create no account. They don't use your data to track you across apps or websites.

This website

calscout.app sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. It's hosted by Netlify, whose servers may briefly log technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse; see Netlify's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

Children

CalScout is a general productivity app. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the release notes.
